TearFlo™ Schirmer Tear Test Strips Manufacturer: HUB Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Product Description: TearFlo™ Schirmer Tear Test Strips are sterile, individually wrapped diagnostic tools designed to accurately measure tear production. These high-quality filter paper strips are primarily used to diagnose Dry Eye Syndrome and other conditions related to tear secretion abnormalities. Indications for Use: Dry Eye Syndrome Diagnosis – Assess tear production levels to identify and monitor dry eye conditions. Tear Secretion Evaluation – Measure basal and reflex tear production to detect hyposecretion or hypersecretion disorders. Preoperative Assessment – Evaluate tear film stability before ocular surgeries to ensure optimal postoperative outcomes. Directions for Use: Preparation: Perform the test in a dimly lit room to minimize reflex tearing. Instruct the patient to look straight ahead or slightly upward and avoid excessive blinking during the procedure. Application: Fold the strip at the pre-marked notch using sterile forceps. Gently insert the folded end into the lower conjunctival sac at the junction of the lateral third and medial two-thirds of the lower eyelid. Measurement: After 5 minutes , remove the strip carefully. Measure the length of the moistened area in millimeters from the notch to determine tear production. Interpretation of Results: Normal Tear Production: ≥15 mm of moisture. Mild Tear Deficiency: 10–14 mm. Moderate Tear Deficiency: 5–9 mm. Severe Tear Deficiency: <5 mm. Note: Values may vary based on clinical judgment and patient history. Storage & Handling: Store at room temperature in a dry environment. Ensure individual strips remain in their sterile packaging until use.
